Billie Holiday

Dee Dee Bridgewater earned her first professional experience as a member of the legendary Thad Jones/Mel Louis Big Band, and throughout the seventies she performed with such jazz notables as Max Roach, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon and Dizzy Gillespie. Bridgewater released a series of acclaimed titles beginning with Keeping Tradition in 1993. All but one of them, including her wildly successful double Grammy Award-winning tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, Dear Ella, have received Grammy nominations. She won a Tony Award® for her role as "Glinda, The Good Witch of the South" in The Wiz in 1975. Her other theatrical credits includeSophisticated Ladies, Black Ballad, Carmen and Lady Day (London) for which Bridgewater received the British Laurence Olivier Nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. She also became the first African-American actress to play the role of Sally Bowles inCabaret, a production staged at the Theatre Mogador in Paris. Bridgewater also hosts NPR's Award winning weekly syndicated show, "JazzSet", now in its second decade on the air; and her recordings are available worldwide as she continues to tour globally, performing to sold-out venues both domestically and internationally.



Book and Director

A seasoned writer and director, Stahl received his early training at The Hedgerow Theatre under Jasper Deeter and Rose Schulman, then moved to New York City and studied with Lee Strasberg at the Actor's Studio. His production, directorial and industrial credits include numerous professional stage shows, award-winning films and a decade of writing, producing and directing the Philadelphia Music Awards. Mr. Stahl has directed, written for, produced and worked with Billy Joel, Bill Cosby, Patti LaBelle, Kathy Sledge, Sandy Duncan, Jason Bateman, Phyllis Hyman, Kitty Kallen, Hall & Oates, Grant Shaud, Julie Gold, Clint Holmes, Bobby Rydell, Divine, Peggy King, Teddy Pendergrass and many others. His Lady Day stage credits include productions featuring Ms. Bridgewater as well as Tonya Pinkins, Hattie Winston and Ann Duquesnay.



Thomas Gentile is an experienced businessman whose career has encompassed senior level corporate positions and entrepreneurial ventures. His professional career has spanned more than 30 years and he has run multiple organizations with domestic and international responsibility. He holds a Juris Doctorate(JD, Law), a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.

Costume Designer

Patty's affiliation with Stephen Stahl began with Philly's Beat and continued with the Philadelphia and San Francisco productions of Lady Day. She has designed costumes for Ballets, Musicals and Children's Theater. In addition, she has designed over 40 operas at some of the country's leading companies including: Florida Grand, Glimmerglass, El Paso, Syracuse, Shreveport, Arizona and over 30 operas at McCarter Theater with Opera New Jersey. Favorite production designs include:Tosca, Carmen, Rigoletto, Little Shop, Sweeney Todd, Madama Butterfly, Barber of Seville, Faust, La traviata, Magic Flute, Eugene Onegin, Wonderful Life, La boheme, Don Pasquale, Don Giovani Charlotte's Web and her award-winning design forTurandot. Patty is grateful to her friends, family, colleagues during this wonderful journey of life.

Video/Projection Design

DIVE Is the Visual Effects Division of Shooters Inc. with offices in New York and Philadelphia and led by Visual Effects Supervisor, Mark O. Forker. DIVE is known for their Environmental Visual Effects work on feature films, television shows, commercials and other creative outlets. Some of their recent credits include: Silver Linings Playbook, The Road, Jack Reacher, Chernobyl Diaries, After Earth, Let Me In and Safety Not Guaranteed.
